The season continues in the high volumes period that come mainly from the south central zone which contributes with the most part of the exports volumes although the harvest has passed the peak. There is also the south zone that is at the peak of volumes at the moment. So, shipments of week 03 reached 9,503 tons and the accumulated is at 77,177 tons, similar to the previous season in the same week and with 67% of progress compared to the estimated.

Organic blueberries are still increasing but not yet in the peak. During week 3, 1,824 tons were exported, with an accumulated of 9,466 tons, 34% more than the previous season in the same week. The main destination is North America with the 78% of the volumes shipped to date, Europe follows with 33% of shipments.

The frozen blueberries continue with high stocks in the US, according to the latest USDA report, they reached about 111,000 tons at December 31st, a similar volume recorded in 2017. On the other hand, exports of frozen blueberries from Chile reached 2,311 tons during December, greater than the 1,560 tons recorded in 2018.

North Zone:

Central-North Zone:

The season is over.

Central-South Zone:

A heat wave was recorded in this area that affected the varieties that were finishing their harvest, such as Duke, Brigitta and Legacy. With the that, several orchards finished the season of these varieties, due to the loss of quality. What is left in this area are mainly Rabbiteye varieties suchs as Brightwell which is entering the peak of volumes, Tifblue and Ochlockonee that are beginning.

South Zone:

The harvest in this area has progressed very well, the weather has been favorable except this week that high temperatures were recorded. The main varieties in harvest are Brigitta and Legacy.
