Crop and Export Report 2020, Week 10

EDITORIAL

The Chilean season is nearing its end, with limited volumes coming from the last crops of the south and central south zones. The weather has allowed a good performance in the southern regions of the country, however, the volumes are falling sharply, typical at the end stage of the season. Thus, during week 9, 1,610 tons were exported and the accumulated to date is 107,775 tons. Of this total, 52% has been shipped to North America, 33% to Europe and 15% to the Far East. Comparing with the previous season up to the same week, North America has decreased by 12%, Europe has increased by 9% while the Far East has grown by 20%.

Regarding organic blueberries, during week 9 there were no shipments of this type of fruit, marking the end of its season. The total volumes of this season marked a record of 15,290 tons shipped until week 9, 15% more than the previous campaign on the same week. 77% of the shipments were destined to North America, while Europe received the 23% of the exports. Both destinations increased the reception of organic blueberries from Chile compared to the previous season; North America showed a growth of 10% and Europe increased by 41%.

The season is over.

Central-South Zone:

The season is almost over, remaining just a few orchards  in harvest with Ochlockonee, Tifblue and Brigthwell.


South Zone:

The good weather continues to favor crops in the south of the country, which has allowed to keep the harvest of Elliot and Legacy mainly.
