The exports from Chile maintain high volumes for the date, with 4,297 tons exported in week 07, where 3,857 tons dispatched to North America, 268 tons to Europe and 106 tons to Asia. The total volume already reaches 113,251 tons, marking a new export record and a growth of 6.5% compared to the same date in the 2019/20 season and 1.6% compared to the initial estimate.
Among the reasons that explain the above, are the increase in the planted area from the Maule Region to the south and the replacement of orchards by more productive varieties, in addition to the effect on the higher exported volumes due to the Systems Approach that came into effect this season for the Ñuble and Biobio Regions.
The total Organic blueberry shipments already account for 19,782 tons up to week 07, 30% more than the previous season, which is equivalent to an increase of 4,599 tons compared to 2019/20.
On the other hand, the harvests continue to advance in the south-central zone, with the last harvests of the season, while in the south, the harvest labors were interrupted by rains of varying intensity from the Araucania Region to the south on Thursday of week 07, which is normal for this time of year.
